The
Community Media Council for Northern Ireland was created in order to provide a networking opportunity for Community Radio Licensees in Northern Ireland. It has developed into a forum for sharing ideas, information and expertise as well as support to organisations seeking to secure licences. In addition, the body decided to expand to represent the three strands of Community Media, i.e. Radio, Television and Internet.
The Council has developed strong links with the regulator (Ofcom), the representative body in the Republic of Ireland (Craol) and the equivalent body for the UK (CMA). In addition to full membership there are a number of grades of membership to allow individuals and non-licence holding groups to become involved. All members agree to adhere to the Charter of the CMC.
Please have a look around the website. If you would like to contact us about becoming involved in the CMC, then please email us at
